A Guy Invited Me to His Room

Please tell me this isn’t the post-divorce dating world

I grab a chair at the bar next to a good-looking guy.

He’s in his world and I’m in mine. I’m not there to meet anyone. I’m relishing the new urban lifestyle that affords me the luxury of doing something I have never done.

Have a drink alone.

At least, outside of my own home.

It’s my gutsy post-divorce caution to the wind ‘best life’

And I’m owning it.

Before long we begin chatting. He turns out to be interesting, smart, and thought-provoking. Even better, he talks about his wife and children. No pressure here. He’s simply traveling for business.

He’s got to be a great guy, right?

Only good guys talk about their families, or so I think.

Not long after, he invites me up to his room.

Now I hate to go all retro Pollyanna…

But please tell me there’s more to the dating world. I thought I hung up my rose-colored glasses after divorce. I actually, dare I say, believed that to be the end of my disillusionment.

I thought the heart-crushing blows were complete.
