A Love — ly Thought #2
Just a thought to ponder from a relationship columnist
“Love requires we sacrifice some of ourselves, don’t ever mistake that for all of yourself.”
—Colleen Sheehy Orme
I always say relationships are a relay.
The first two syllables of the word echo this — ‘relay-tionship.’ A partnership should be a subtle back-and-forth. We give and we receive. We shouldn’t perpetually hand off to another individual.
I use the word subtle because relationships shouldn’t be measured.
We give out of love, not to immediately receive. But the scales shouldn’t outweigh one another either. This can happen when a giver falls in love with a taker or an individual lacks self-protective boundaries and/or can’t say no.
Just a thought. Think about it. Marinate in it. Love better.
Welcome to ‘A Love — ly Thought.’
What’s this all about?
I will be routinely publishing a few love — ly thoughts in a numeric series.
This will be an emotional assortment of love.
They might be something to ponder. They might be something that helps uncomplicate the complex…
