Agree completely. Not only is it untrue and clickbait but what aggravates me most as a journalist is people who sell dreams just to make money off of people who don’t understand the publishing industry odds let alone how it has evolved into digital odds. I don’t know how the majority of ‘writers’ who write about writing here sleep at night when they are blatantly making money off of people by selling them a promise of unrealistic results and incomes. I thought and hoped they would make stories like this no longer metered and paid but sadly instead of focusing on the brand of writing they are going for this because it promotes paid memberships by people looking for side hustles. But that is a short-sighted brand strategy. It will make immediate money but quality and mission objective wise it will dilute the brand and the quality of work here. I’ve complained which I never do about another writer on this platform with a lot of followers who continues to promote a gofundme. It’s a conflict of interest ongoing and perpetual fundraising, not writing. It never stops. There’s always one more reason money needs to be raised for this individual. It’s disappointing that they don’t implement guidelines and instead make exceptions because of follower count,
