Agree! I call them the snake oil salespeople of the internet. It's creating a lot of F'ing (my family's from Brooklyn haha) side-hustle content. There's a difference between writing and content writing. It's attracting money mongers when the hope is to attract readers. It's a conflict of interest brand wise. As a journalist I tire of reading things about writing that aren't even accurate written by people who have no writing resume but they are trying to make a quick buck. My other big beef is soliciting money. There's a writer on this platform who has a gofundme page. I'm empathetic, wish her well and believe she should raise money but not on a writing platform. There are other outlets to promote her gofundme. I think it's a slippery slope to ask kind people for money and it borders on manipulation as the cause continues. I am particularly worried because the readers on this platform are far nicer than the majority. It's a community and their interests need to be protected.
