Hi Mary, I agree most people in the narcissism community may understand these terms. I'm not underestimating abuse survivors because I am one. But I'm also a journalist. Not every reader is thoroughly versed on the topic of narcissism especially since most narcissists are not diagnosed. For this reason, they do believe there is a higher population of narcissists than statistically represented. What I try to explain in this piece is a reader may have a whirlwind romance and not understand the complexities of narcissism. Because these are clusters of behavior that amount to identifying a narcissist. Will a person who has definitely experienced love bombing understand the difference? They should especially if they are well-versed in the area of narcissism. But there's a reason even counselors say that this can be confused with the infancy of a relationship.
