Hi Rachel, Sorry I'm just responding. It's so great the work that you do, and thank you for seeing this piece in the vein it was intended. I worked with dogs and fostered for years too. I am not discouraging that. I'm only attempting to elevate that there are all kinds of different rescue organizations now and people need to understand they should get a dog that has been properly temperament tested because as you point out animals are animals and whether it's a rescue or not, things can still happen. I've also had to watch people put down dogs which is devastating because they've grown to love the dog. One comment here made it sound like I was doing the wrong thing by writing this so I appreciate your comment especially with your expertise working with animals. This piece isn't only based on my opinion. It's based on conversations I've had with vets and vet techs over the years because it's not a particularly regulated industry.
