Hi Thomas, I live in Virginia right outside of Washington, D.C. I kept telling my lawyer I wasn't strictly a stay-at-home mother and reinforcing I was a 50% business owner but my husband had control of the money and for whatever reason (probably that) my lawyer didn't pursue it. I completely agree with you that men can get as taken advantage of as women. It's not about gender it's about bad behavior. And as you say, incredibly, divorce seems to work in favor of the manipulative liars. They game the system while honest people tend to fight fair and then be shocked that there is little justice in the outcome. I'm baffled why they haven't addressed these inequities that work for manipulators of the system. I have seen people like you taken advantage of by people who stayed at home and I have seen other good women penalized by the stereotype of stay-at-home mothers and ruthless men.
