Hi Thomas, I think even though Tony's background is growth and personal development he acknowledges the need for all types of writing. I do like growth and personal development there's a space for it like other writing. What I don't like is what you say. You wrote "Most writers have turned into advice givers when they are not experts at all on the subject. And that's bad for humanity." Amen to that. And Tony has recognized this when he speaks about expertise. Like you, I think there needs to be balance because these articles have taken over the platform. Less content writing more active writers voices. I agree that writing about writing has gotten completely out of control. The irony was not lost on me that one of the most vocal about demonetization has made a living doing it and continues to do so. But has transitioned because now has enough followers to not overtly write about Medium and can now write just about writing. I wouldn't be discouraged about how Tony delivers his message because it may be an effort to reach the most followers and therefore communicate as widely as possible. As I said, I'm a marketer and a writer I actually see both sides but it's not just the writer in me who thinks these side hustle writing stories should be demonetized and regulated. It's the marketer in me. It's a conflict of interest to the brand. The target audience is the reader not people who don't know about writing to flock here to write about a topic they have no expertise in and make this a side hustle destination. It will take a premium brand and taint it.
