I don’t know all the particulars of your relationship but my father was an alcoholic. In true recovery the drinker takes responsibility for themselves and makes amends. They don’t blame others. When my husband started drinking he blamed me. That was when I showed him the door. I told him there are only a few aspects of life I am educated in and drinking is one of them. As long as you behave badly and tell me it’s my fault there isn’t any hope. Your wife did you a favor. You deserve to be happy.
