I’m so sorry that happened to your father. I agree with you. I tell my kids they are strong and I’ve brought them to our marriage and family counselor a few times over the years, and he told them they were strong. They need to hear that. I think my mom didn’t feel the need to apologize because she was deeply spiritual. I don’t remember her ever expressing regret because she believed so much, everything in her life and our life was meant to be. I am super spiritual but there are times I realize my mom was a spiritual giant because it’s healing. Far more healing than beating yourself up.
