Platforms are an evolution. If you look at the history of any social media startup they evolved, changed, and grew over time. Medium is evolving. It seems like the writers who are frustrated got used to huge earnings. If they had a background in journalism or the publishing world they would have realized these were giant new frontiers. Historically, it was a luxury to make good money as writers. Platforms like Medium never existed before. It was hard to get your words read let alone make money.
