That’s awful. And it’s not uncommon for them to make excuses for their bad behavior. When I’ve called my husband out on things or my children have he just says things like they’re adults now because they’re in their twenties. When he got engaged without telling them he blamed me and said I would ruin it by writing about it. I mean really? They obviously discussed getting married. He could have spoken to our kids months ago and let them know he was thinking about it rather than say I would have ruined the surprise. It’s always an excuse for bad behavior.
